Drasilia : ad nihilum
Made for Metroidvania Month 18
Drasilia is a dark GBA-styled love letter to classical Metroidvania. I hope you enjoy playing it as much as I did working on it. There are a few wrinkles I didn't get to iron out, and sooooo many things I wanted to do (like bosses), but there's never enough time!
Controls:
Don't forget to use save points (snake buildings) by pressing Up!

what a neat game. Dark and grimy, and very polished. Great sound design as well.
I had a couple bugs (my character glitched out and disappeared, doors wouldn’t open). Also I wasn’t really able to figure out what the embiopteran pointes did, they seemed to just fling me backwards? And the tarsal claw felt inconsistent in its collisions.
I really hope you make this a full project! Tons of promise
Thank you for playing!
The pointes make a trampoline between two corners based on where the backdash starts and ends, like this:
It's the least intuitive ability by far and difficult to teach so if I do revisit the project I will probably be reworking it, along with the claw.
I don't think anyone has reported disappearing or doors not opening, so if you have any information on how to reproduce those it would be helpful!
Thanks for the feedback as well!
ohhh ok, ya that makes sense!
I can’t remember where I was when my player disappeared, but i remember I was button mashing to try to get the pointes working and suddenly - poof. the door that didn’t open was in a room near the beginning, it’s a small room where the only door is in the top left corner and you have to jump up to open it, I didn’t have any items, and barehanded it just ignored me trying to open it until the like 20th time
A GREAT game!! I wish I could vote during the voting period. No wonder why you won, this game is beautiful and has great animations and athmosphere.
Thank you!
